Agnes M. Woodhouse, 93, of Royal Center passed away at 4:00 p.m., Monday, January 2, 2012 at her residence. Born on August 3, 1918 in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Dan and Mary (Crimmins) Murphy. On April 7, 1945 she married Robert U. Woodhouse and he preceded her in death August 29, 1985. She was a Metea High School graduate. Agnes was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a former lifelong member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Lucerne and the St. Elizabeth Alter Rosary Society. Agnes was also a past President and former member of Harrison Twp Home Ec. Club and she enjoyed gardening and flowers. Survivors include her son, John U. Woodhouse of Lucerne, daughters, Mary Ann Ripperger and husband, Ron of Ossian and Rita M. McNeil and husband, Boyd of Royal Center, and sister, Hazel Ulerich of Twelve Mile. She is also survived by grandchildren, Dr. Rhonda Phillips (Dr. Doug Phillips) and Michael Ripperger (Judy), both of Markle, John U. 'Chip' Woodhouse, Jr. (Paige) of Lucerne, Molly Cain (Todd) of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, Wesley Woodhouse (Karen) of Lucerne, Matt McNeil (Melissa) of Azle, Texas, Dr. Carla Schwalm (Dan) of Johnston, Iowa and Sara Bennett (Chad) of Indianapolis and great grandchildren, Rachel, Heather, Jake, Knute, Callie, Anderson, Alette and Everett. She was also preceded in death by brother, John Murphy and sisters, Catherine Lantz and Grace Spitznogle. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2012 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Father Donald Eder officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2012 at the funeral home. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Lucerne.
