Alvin J. Yoder, 77, of Kewanna passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at his residence.
Born August 19, 1936 in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Y. and Elizabeth (Hostetler) Yoder.
He was U.S. Army Veteran.
Alvin was a retired farmer and truck driver.
He was a former member of the Dairyman’s Association. He enjoyed playing cards and in the 1970’s and 80’s, Alvin drove stock cars in Plymouth and New Paris.
He is survived by companion, Dorothy Frasa of Kewanna, his children, Sherrie Miller of Arizona, Robert Yoder of Oregon, Allen Yoder of Bourbon, Carol Minix (Dyke) of Rochester and Christine Yoder of Argos, brother, John C. Yoder (Juanita) of Middleburg, PA., and sister, Mary Hostetler of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Eli Yoder, Bill Yoder and Jake Yoder and sister, Barbara Hostetler.
In honoring Alvin’s wishes, there will be no services or visitation.
Memorial contributions may be made to one’s favorite charity.
