Anita M. (Ricci) Townsley, 86, of Logansport, passed away peacefully at 5:01 p.m., Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 10, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Angelo P. and Hesperia A. (Sylvester) Ricci.
Anita was a 1944 graduate of St. Vincent’s Parochial School and a 1948 Logansport High School graduate.
On November 9, 1996, she married Robert Townsley in Carmel, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1997.
Anita was a lifelong member of All Saints Catholic Church.
She was also a member of the William Paca Lodge, Elkettes, the Mental Health Association, and also the Red Hat Society.
Anita was proud of her Italian Heritage, and greatly enjoyed cooking and baking authentic Italian dishes for her friends and family, especially Pizzelle’s. She also enjoyed playing cards.
In 1990, Anita retired as the secretary of the All Saints Catholic Church. She then worked for the Mental Health Association until 1996. She was also formerly employed at the Area 5 Agency for several years.
Survivors include one brother, Lawrence Ricci (Carol) of Kokomo, nephew, Michael Ricci of Kokomo, niece, Angela Burkhart (Jim) of Carmel and great-nieces; Caroline and Courtney Burkhart both of Carmel.
Anita was also preceded in death by a baby sister, Dorthea Ricci.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Dominic Petan officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, October 10, 2016 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel where there will also be a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m.
Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
