Bernice M. Hicks

Services for Bernice M. Hicks, 89, of Royal Center will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center, Indiana.

She passed away at 1:25 p.m., Friday, July 24, 2009 at Woodbridge Health Campus in Logansport.

Born on September 6, 1919 near Monterey, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mamie (Reinholt) Rohman.

On September 17, 1966 she married Melvin Miller and he preceded her in death on September 21, 1968. She married Raymond Beckley on December 1, 1969 and he preceded her in death on March 30, 1971. She then married Donald R. Hicks on August 10, 1974 and he preceded her in death on March 3, 2002.

Bernice was a 1937 Monterey High School graduate, a member of Star City United Methodist Church and she was a former seamstress for Rice Corporation of Winamac.

Survivors include step daughter, Shirley (Hicks) Holland and husband Wayne of Conrad, Iowa, 11 Grandchildren and Several Great Grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by step daughters, Sharon (Hicks) Newman, Daisy (Beckley) Snyder and Wilma (Beckley) Stephenson.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 28, 2009 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel.

Pastors Ron Mabry and Richard Utterback will officiate and burial will be in Riverside Memorial Cemetery in Monterey.
