Bettie K. Schmaltz

Bettie K. Schmaltz, 88, of Royal Center passed away at 10:25 p.m., Monday, August 19, 2013 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.

Born on August 2, 1925 in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Carlus and Jenny (Henry) Robinson. On September 2, 1945 she married Robert D. Schmaltz.

He preceded her in death on August 25, 1998.

She was a 1944 Royal Center High School graduate.

Bettie was a homemaker and farm wife.

Bettie attended Royal Center United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Pioneer Pathfinders Camping Club. She also enjoyed making dolls, clowns and other crafts.

Survivors include her children, Jon R. Schmaltz (Sandi) of Royal Center, Jeff C. Schmaltz (Pam) of Royal Center, Jean Wandrei (Charles) of Royal Center and Jan Krackenberger of Terre Haute, brother, Joe Robinson (Virginia) of Logansport, sister in law, Ethel Robinson of Royal Center, and grandchildren, Jarret Wandrei (Heather) of Zionsville, Jeff Wandrei of Indianapolis, Jeremy Schmaltz (Tabitha) of Royal Center, Jake Schmaltz (Kellie) of Royal Center, Brandon Schmaltz of Indianapolis, Brittany Schmaltz of Royal Center, Josh Krackenberger of Terre Haute and Eric Krackenberger (Liz) of Arizona. She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brothers, James, William and Harry Robinson, sisters, Eleanor Rall, Gertrude Atwood, Vera Wolf and Lena Cunningham and grandson, Blake Schmaltz.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, August 23, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Drane officiating.

Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
