Betty J Herrick

Betty J. Herrick, 87, passed away at 5:02 a.m., Thursday, June 23, 2011 at Logansport Memorial Hospital. She had recently been a resident of Chase Center of Logansport and was formerly from Royal Center.
Born February 4, 1924 in Cass County, she was the daughter of the late Paul B. and Jenny E. (Miller) Simpson. On May 2, 1948, she married Robert A�A�?A�A...?BuckA�A�?A�i�� Herrick and he preceded her in death on April 23, 1970.
She was a 1942 Royal Center High School graduate.
Betty was a member of the Royal Center United Methodist Church and enjoyed a lifetime of fun and fellowship with her church family. In past years, she had been an avid quilter and helped create many quilts with her senior citizen friends to be raffled off as charity items. She enjoyed her family and especially loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also a member of the Boone Township Extension Homemakers.
Surviving Mrs. Herrick are her son, John R. Herrick and wife Gwen, of Royal Center, two daughters, Carol Overly and husband Steve, of Carmel and Cheryl Ide and husband David,of Logansport. Grandchildren, Christine Santora (Dennis), Cheyenne, WY.;Valerie Bryson, Royal Center; Craig Overly, Tampa, FL.; Megan Overly, Carmel; Jennifer Stevens (Ben), Warsaw; Allison Millspaugh (Joshua), Noblesville; Adrienne Phelps (Kyle), Warsaw; and Zackary Ide, West Lafayette. Great grandchildren, Brianna and Ashley Santora; Lane and Abigail Bryson; Emma Overly; Owen and Anna Stevens; David and Grace Millspaugh. She is also survived by two sisters, Helen Keller and Kay Hardy (Paul), both of Logansport and sister in law, Betty Simpson of Kokomo.
She was also preceded in death by brother, William Simpson and sister, Donna Carlson.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center with visitation one hour prior to the time of service.
Pastor Kevin Drane will officiate and burial will be at Royal Center Cemetery.
