Billy Charles Hines, 75 of Royal Center, passed away November 7, 2010 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born January 25, 1935 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late Enoch and Oma (Williams) Hines. On November 7, 1954 he married Ruth Ann Robison and she preceded in death on March 29, 1976. On July 17, 1976, he married Pamela Moon Spencer, she survives.
He was a 1953 Royal Center High School graduate where he was a 4 year varsity basketball player. He was a lifelong dairy farmer and was also formerly employed at Signature Farms in Logansport. He was a lifelong member of Caley United Methodist Church where he sang in the choir and also served as Sunday School Superintendant and trustee.
He enjoyed gardening and traveling after retiring, especially to Branson, Missouri and Renfro Valley, Kentucky. He most of all enjoyed spending time with his family and church family and attending his children and grandchildrenA�A�?A�?A�s sporting events.
Surviving are his wife, Pamela Hines of Royal Center, 6 children, Debra Carlson and her husband, Joe, Dennis Hines and his wife, JoEllen, Teresa Small, all of Royal Center, John Hines of Lafayette, Timothy Hines and his wife, Jenny of Winchester and Aaron Hines and his wife, Kelly of Winamac, 10 grandchildren, Justin Hines and his wife, Nicole of Royal Center, Casey Hines and his wife, Michelle of Star City, Rachel Goings and her husband, Nick of Royal Center, Tonya Small of South Africa, Tarah Small of Kokomo, Michael Small of Royal Center, Enoch Hines and Nolan Hines of Winchester, Brendan Hines and Jaybin Hines of Winamac, adopted granddaughter, Laura Morrical of Royal Center, 5 great grandchildren, Hunter, Addyson, Ellie and Eli Hines and Shaylee Goings. He is also survived by brother, Wayne Hines of Logansport and sister, Josephine Townsend and her husband, Conrad of Rochester. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He is also preceded in death by brothers, Donald Hines and Richard Hines, sisters, Eileen Hines, Betty Swayze and Nina Collins and granddaughter, Brandi Small.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Caley United Methodist Church with Pastors Nick and Crystal Jacobson officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel and also one hour before the time of service at the church on Wednesday.
Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
