Carl M. Newell, 81, of Royal Center passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at his home.

Born on April 4, 1940 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Wilma (Wolf) Newell.

He was a 1958 Lucerne High School graduate.

Carl was a U.S. Army veteran and served from 1963 to 1965.

He retired from Essroc where he was employed for over 30 years.

Carl also formerly owned and operated T-Bone & T-Roy’s Bar and Grill in Royal Center.

He was a member of the Royal Center United Methodist Church.  Carl enjoyed bowling, throwing horseshoes and especially loved his quarter horses.

Survivors include his brothers, Arthur Newell (Jeannette) of Camden, Norman Newell (Becky) of Cottonwood, Arizona and Gary Newell (Diann) of New Ross, and sister in law, Leona Newell of South Carolina.  He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Newell.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, July 26, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the funeral home.

Burial with military rites will be performed at Kistler Cemetery.
