Carol Joan (Patty) Gray
March 22, 1930 — January 8, 2015
Carol "Joan" Gray, 84, of Columbia City, formerly of Royal Center, passed away at 1:05 a.m., Thursday January 8th at Woodview Healthcare Center in Ft. Wayne.
Born March 22, 1930, in Cass County, she was the daughter of Glen and Lillian Patty. On March 4th, 1951 she was married to Robert Gordon Gray at her home near Royal Center, Indiana.
Mrs. Gray was a graduate of Royal Center High School and worked in manufacturing and retired from Sears in Logansport Indiana. While living in Girard, Pennsylvania she also enjoyed providing childcare services.
She was a member of Center Presbyterian Church.
Joan enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and family.
Surviving are two daughters and one son-in-law, Cindy Pallikan, Lowell, and Linda and Robert Plant, Churubusco; one son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Debbie Bowen Gray, Winston-Salem,NC; six grandchildren, Lisa Mantel, Lowell, David (Chandra) Pallikan, Lowell, Bill (Emily) Plant, Columbia City, Dan (Andrea) Plant, Huntertown, Adam Gray, Charlotte NC, Michelle (JR) Husmillo, Winston-Salem NC; eight great grandchildren, Mackenzie, Zander, Kristen, Devin, Zoe, Ethan, Aiden, and Elijah; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Clyde Patty, Logansport, Leland and Leota Patty, Lakeland Florida, and Dean and Louise Patty, Royal Center; one sister and brother-in-law, Justine and Robert Crume, Flora; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Gordon Gray; two infants, Gary and Marla; parents, Glen and Lillian Patty; brothers, Burdette and Jim Patty; and grandson, Joshua Gray.
Services will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Pisgah Cemetery, Logansport.
