Carol Jo (Hyatt) Hickle

July 3, 1935 — March 26, 2012

Carol Jo Hickle, 76 of Kewanna, passed away at 11:03 a.m., Monday, March 26, 2012 at South Bend Memorial Hospital. Born July 3, 1935 in Glen Ellen, Illinois, she was the only child of the late Harold and Josephine (Croffoot) Hyatt. On October 8, 1954, she married Howard E. Hickle and he preceded in death May 28, 2008. She was a 1954 Kewanna High School graduate. Carol Jo formerly owned and operated Kewanna Screen Printing, Inc. in Kewanna, a local business began by her parents. She succeeded them in the operation in 1990 after the death of her father. Carol retired in 2007, passing the torch of running the family business to her grandson, Ben. She was a member of the Kewanna United Methodist Church in Kewanna. Survivors include her daughter, Christine K. Fehrer and husband Wayne of La Conner, Washington, grandsons, Benjamin A. Fehrer and wife, Tammy of Rochester, Indiana and Bryan E. Fehrer and wife, Karen of Seattle, Washington and great granddaughter, Ella Fehrer of Rochester, Indiana. She is also survived by sister in law, Betty Hickle of Kewanna, Indiana. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Bradley E. Hickle. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 7, 2012 at Kewanna United Methodist Church in Kewanna with Rev. Todd Wilson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, April 6, 2012 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel and also one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will be held at Citizens IOOF Cemetery in Kewanna at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Kewanna United Methodist Church, P.O.
