Charles "Dick" Richard Strasser

Charles Richard "Dick" Strasser, a self-taught avid golfer with 9 verified hole-in-ones, sank his last putt on May 12, 2020.

Born October 14, 1935 to the parents Fredrick Strasser and (Olive) Louise (Sparks, Strasser) Randolph attended Logansport schools, but graduated from Kokomo High School in 1955 where he was a 3 sport athlete.  His parents and step father Perry Randolph preceded him in death.

In 1964, Dick married Judith K. Porter (Irwin) of Greentown, IN who preceded him in death in 1980. In 1996, Dick married Sandy J. (Pfaff, Burkett) Strasser who is his surviving spouse.

Dick retired from the Kokomo Police Department in 1980 after 20 years of service. A Navy veteran, Dick served his country honorably from 1955-1959. Dick's memberships and affiliations include past member of All Saints Catholic Church (Logansport, IN); Retired Police and Fireman's Association; David Foster FOP Lodge 78; 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus; Mason Scottish Rite Murat Temple; and life memberships at the VFW and Eagles.

Surviving children and spouses include Carol (and Lin) Meredith, Rossville, IN; David Strasser, El Paso, TX; Teresa (and Jeff) Appleton, Deer Creek, IN; Brenda Strasser, Lafayette, IN; Rick (and Kendra) Strasser, Avon, IN, Jason (and Kelly Kasch) Strasser, Denver, CO; Stepsons David Porter, Lake Mary, FL; Matt Burkett, Logansport, IN; and Stepdaughter Mandi (and Doug) Voegle of Noblesville, IN and a stepdaughter Gwen (Porter) Beck who preceded him in death. Surviving grandchildren include Makenna and Phoebe Strasser, Denver, CO; Ethan and Kaylyn Strasser, Avon, IN; Luke Carslie, Mooresville, IN; Manny Strasser, El Paso, TX; Bryan Appleton (and Danielle) and Jessica Appleton (and fiancé Jamaal), both of Deer Creek, IN; Logan Graham and Kendall Sutton both of Lafayette, IN; Justin Fultz and Kylie Fultz of Mulberry, IN; Step grandchildren Nathan Peters, Colorado; Lizzy Rice, Marion, IN; Luke Peters (fiancee Allie), Noblesville, IN; Amelia Peters, Elwood, IN, and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 15, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.

A private service will follow given by Father Jeff Martin that will be live streamed at Rans Funeral Homes and Crematory Facebook page.

Interment in Phlox, IN will occur at a later date.
