Chester H. Wootten, 90, of Logansport passed away at 11:55 p.m., Monday, June 4, 2012 at Caring Hands Health & Rehab in Peru.
Born December 2, 1921 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Otho and Mary (Badders) Wootten. On July 15, 1948 he married Shirley (Heater) Wootten, she survives.
He was a WWII Army veteran who received three Bronze Stars.
Chester was a member of the Laborers and Hod Carriers Union, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3790, and the American Legion #60. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Wootten of Logansport, son, Gary Wootten and wife Jan of Logansport, daughters; Kathy Brothers and husband Richard of Moorhead, Iowa and Susan Eagan of Logansport, brother in law, Harry Heater and wife Rita of Logansport and grandson, Dustin Eagan of Bloomington.
He was also preceded in death by sisters; Maxine Denny and Magelene 'Tootsie' Zeider and brothers; Lester and Floyd Wootten.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012 at Marocco- Rans Funeral Chapel with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the service.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
