Claude D. Collins

Claude D. Collins, 92 of Royal Center passed away at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, June 15, 2019 at his residence.

Born July 7, 1926 in Dungannon, Virginia, he was the son of the late John and Mossie (Wolfe) Collins.

Claude was a 1944 Royal Center High School graduate.

He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Philippines during WWII.

On December 7, 1946 he married Wanda J. Smith.  She preceded him in death on January 15, 2010.

Claude was a retired farmer.  He was also a longtime sales rep and manager for A.O. Smith Harveststore.

He was a member of the Monticello American Legion and the NRA.  Claude enjoyed his horses, taking care of his flowers, riding his motorcycle, fishing, hunting and gardening.  He and Wanda also enjoyed spending many winters in Florida.

Survivors include his daughter, Marsha Lucy (Ed) of Logansport, sons, Mike Collins (Cari) of Panama, Central America and Mark Collins (Gayle Morris) of Royal Center, grandchildren, Michelle McLennen (Travis), Janene Crawford (Wally), Holly Wilson (Jason), Ashley Sexton (Shane), Kylie McLearen (Ryan), Brandon Collins (Rebekah), Ryan Collins (Kristina) and Aaron Collins and great grandchildren, Haley Huizenga, Kinzy Crawford, Emma Leigh Wilson Joshua Levi Wilson, Jacob Jack Wilson, Adlyn Grace McLearen, Evlyn Teresa McLearen, Tyler Collins, Lukas Collins, Jaynie Collins, Ryder Collins, Brady Collins and sisters, Martha Stefaniak of Monticello and Dorothy Merrell of Lafayette

He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers and 7 sisters.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 21, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory, Royal Center Chapel.

Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the funeral home.
