Cosimo A. Cira

Cosimo A. Cira, 88, of Logansport, Indiana passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Born on April 13, 1930 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Leonard J. Cira and Lena Antonia Corso.

Cosimo was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea.

On December 26, 1954 he married Frances Hutchcraft, she survives.

Cosimo was a 1948 graduate of Logansport High School and a 1952 graduate of Indiana State University.

He was a member of Logansport All Saints Catholic Church. He was also a member of Indiana State Teachers Association, Honorary Industrial Arts Fraternity and Logansport American Legion.

Cosimo was a retired Logansport High School teacher. He also taught at Fairview and Columbia Elementary.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Cira of Logansport, children, James Cira of Logansport, Karen (William) Aldridge of South Carolina, sister, Roseann Cira of Logansport, grandchildren, Derek (Brittney) Aldridge, Evan (Samantha) Aldridge, Cameron Aldridge, Emilia Aldridge, Corbin Aldridge, Great Grandchildren, Lena, Christine and Benjamin Aldridge.

He was also preceded in death by his sister, Magalene Showley.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel & Crematory.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Church. Burial with Military Rites performed will follow at Ever Rest Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made to All Saints Catholic Church for Masses.
