Daniel L. Smith

Daniel L. Smith, 70, of Burnettsville passed away at 11:14 a.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at I.U. Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born on August 4, 1951 in Cass County, he was the son of the late Lawrence Smith and Mildred (Arnold) Wampler.

He was a 1969 Pioneer High School graduate.

On May 3, 1998 he married Kathy J. Frye, she survives.

Daniel retired from Nipsco after over 49 years.

He was a member of East Main St. Church of God in Logansport.  Daniel enjoyed woodworking, carpentry and spending time with friends and family.

Survivors include his wife, Kathy J. Smith of Burnettsville, son, Ryan Smith (Vanessa) of Plainfield, grandchildren, Hector Hernandez and Marcus Smith of Plainfield, brother, Kenneth Smith of Pekin, sisters, Mary June McIntire of Royal Center, Lorie Berkshire (Tim) of Royal Center, Norma Howard of Royal Center and Rebecca Johnson (Kenny) of Ohio, brother in law, Phillip Frye (Lynne) of Rochester and sisters in law, Diana Smith of Rochester, Carol Colvin (Eric) Kewanna and Linda Brady of Logansport.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded by two brothers, Edward Smith and Michael Smith, sister in law, Gale Smith and brother in law, Melvin McIntire.

Services will be private.

Burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, Royal Center.
