David M. McDonald, 89, of Royal Center passed away at 11:01 p.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 12, 1929 in Thornhope, he was the son of the late Cleo and Roma (Lucchesi) McDonald.
David was a U.S. Army veteran from 1955 to 1957 serving in Korea. He was a lifelong farmer.
David enjoyed watching all the Chicago sports teams and especially Pioneer High School football. He also had coached Little League and Babe Ruth in Lucerne.
Survivors include his brother, Phil McDonald of Royal Center, sister in law, Megan McDonald of Royal Center, nephew, Daniel McDonald (Debra) of Royal Center and nieces, Linda McDonald of Pittsburgh and Della Barr (John) of Orlando. He is also survived by numerous great nieces and great nephews.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Harold “Bud” McDonald.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 19, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home & Crematory in Royal Center with Pastor Joe Boggs officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, April 18, 2019 at the funeral home.
Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Buck cemetery in Thornhope.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
