David T. Manus, 87, of Logansport passed away peacefully at 7:40 p.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at his residence.
Born June 18, 1923 in Mishawaka, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Webb) Manus.
He was a veteran of the United State Navy, serving in WWII. He was a survivor of The Battle of Midway and was recognized by our country by receiving the Distinguished Flying Cross Medal.
He retired from Chrysler in Kokomo in 1989 after 24 years of service.
David is survived by his wife, Helen M. (OA�A�?A�?A�Brian) Manus of Logansport. They celebrated 58 years of marriage together and raised five children. Also surviving are one son, Terry Manus of Logansport, one daughter Patti Waye-Benson and husband Gary of Cary, North Carolina, one sister, Virginia Wharten of Bedford, Oregon, and 13 grandchildren, Tammy Bryan, Sherry Lucas, Michael Almos, Maria Almos, Tara Leahy, Brandon Brown, Christopher Manus, Jason Manus, Heather Arvizu, Robert Manus, Kristen Waye, Daniel Waye and Jonathan Waye, 23 great grandchildren and one niece, Karen Salzer of LaPorte.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Manus, and Robert Manus, one daughter Linda Almos, and great granddaughter Taylor Lucas, and one brother Joseph Manus.
Services will be Saturday, July 31, 2010 at 2:00 p.m., at Marocco Funeral Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
