David William Packard, 84 of Royal Center passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 9, 2024 at home.
Born on August 31, 1940 in Lafayette, he was the son of the late Marvin and Alta (Kite) Packard.
He was a 1958 Delphi High School graduate.
David was a U.S. Navy veteran.
On January 12, 1969 he married Pennie Feltis, she survives.
David retired from Essroc after 35 years. He was a member of Royal Center United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of Mt. Zion Masonic Lodge #211 in Camden. He was an avid Purdue fan and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Pennie Packard of Royal Center, children, Amber Good (Matthew) of Arcadia and Cathy Smith (Thomas) of Lucerne, brother, Richard Packard of Brazil, grandchildren, Hunter Smith, Dalynne Smith, Avery Smith, Ronyn Smith, Mason Good and Tanner Good, brother-in-law, James Feltis, sisters-in-law, Ellen Packard, Lorrie Packard and Sandy Feltis and nieces and nephews, Alexander Packard (Frannie), Rachael Powell (Ben), Kameron Packard (Sarah), Keenan Packard, Hayli McCoy and Carl Feltis. David is also survived by his beloved dogs, Stormie and Auggie.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Michael and Robert Packard and mother-in-law, Joan Feltis and father-in-law, William Feltis.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center with Pastor Branden Scott officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to the time of the service.
Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
