Derik R. “Curley” Stearns, 26, of Logansport, passed away on Sunday, September 25, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born on January 21, 1990 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Alan Crump and LeeAnne (Stearns) Nipper who survives.
He was currently employed at Tyson’s and had formerly worked for Indiana Packers in Delphi.
Derik enjoyed listening to music, and especially spending time with his 10 month old son, Bryce Nathaniel Ray Stearns.
Survivors include his mother, LeeAnne Nipper (Larry) of Logansport, son, Bryce Nathanial Ray Stearns of Logansport, grandmother, Leona Holt of Logansport, brothers, Erik Stearns of Logansport, Nathan Nipper (Beth) of Indianapolis, Alan Crump and Jonathan Elpers of Colorado, sisters, Crystal Nipper (Lyle Gadin) of Arlington, Washington, and Sierra Dyer of Logansport, aunt, Trinca Stearns of Logansport and cousin, Robert Stearns (Shelby) of Logansport. Derik is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Derik was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Zeb and Jane Crump, and maternal grandfather, Ferrell Holt.
Visitation for Derik will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.
