Donald Dean Cartright

April 30, 1932 — March 30, 2010

In loving memory of Donald Dean Cartright, 77 of Royal Center, who passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Mr. Cartright was born April 30, 1932 in Westfield, IL. to Glen and Edith (Hunt) Cartright. He married Delores Faye Allison on July 26, 1952 at Brocton, IL., she survives. They have two sons, Jeffrey and his wife, Pamela of Tampa, FL. and Jerry of Las Vegas, NV.

Don has one sister, Shirley (Cartright) Finney and her husband, Donald of Paris, IL. He is also survived by four grandchildren, three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Don graduated from Redmon High School in 1950 and attended Normal University in Bloomington, IL. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during the Korean War.

Don worked at Donnellys in Crawfordsville, IN for several years and felt he should go to Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN. A year before he was to graduate, he received a call to go to Manhattan Christian College in Manhattan, KS to be dorm parents for the boychr(39)s dorm.

He graduated from Manhattan Christian College in 1975 and began to minister to the Church of Christ in Plymouth, IN. where he served as minister for five years. His life took him on many interesting journeys. He lived in Tampa, FL for 11 years and Las Vegas for 6 years before moving back to Royal Center. He had a great sense of humor and will be missed by many.

Donchr(39)s wishes were to donate his body to science.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at the Church of Christ, 2347 S. Burlington, Logansport with Jeff Strite, minister officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest that memorials be made to the St. Jude Childrenchr(39)s Research Hospital or Johnson Bible College in Knoxville, TN.
