Donald Eller, Sr., 89, of Royal Center went to Heaven at 3:49 p.m., Friday, March 22, 2024 at Chase Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 28, 1934 in Rossville, he was the son of the late Lucian A. Eller and Mary Irene (Flora) Eller.

He was a proud U.S. Army veteran.

On June 5, 1976 he married Sandra Roller.

Don was a lifelong mechanic where he formerly worked at Jackson Kitchel, Eikelberner Ford, Stafford Ford, and New Holland in Logansport and retired in 1996.  He was also a former bus driver for Pioneer School Corporation.  

Don was a member of the Royal Center United Methodist Church, Royal Center Lions Club, Gideons International, Tip-Wa Tractor Club, Pioneer Power Tractor Club and Ferguson Enthusiasts of North America.  He enjoyed working on and restoring old Ferguson Tractors.  Don was an outgoing man who never knew a stranger.  His love for God and his family was always strong.

Survivors include his wife, Sandy Eller of Royal Center, sons, Donald Eller, Jr. (Sheryl) of Walton, John Eller (Alicia) of Logansport, Troy Miller (Beth) of Royal Center, Erik Miller (Kathy) of Logansport, Lucian Eller of Royal Center and daughters, Mary Ann Pratt of Kokomo, Carla Thomas (Steve) of Walton, and Dawn Harmon (Cory) of Royal Center and siblings, Danna Eller (Jane) of Waxahachie, Texas, Janet (Joe) Szewczyk of Logansport, Karen Cole (Bob) of Wabash and Lila Carey (Jim) of Logansport.  He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister and brother in law, Rosetta and Homer Fry

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at the funeral home.

Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
