Doris J. Jenkins

Doris J. Jenkins, 94, of Royal Center passed away at 10:43 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Chase Center in Logansport.

Born on August 12, 1927 in Wabash County, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Florence (Dorton) Capes.

She was a 1945 graduate of Urbana High School.

On March 12, 1954 she married Lewis W. Jenkins.  He preceded her in death on August 29, 2009.

Doris was a homemaker.  She was a member of Crooked Creek Christian Church.  She was also a and past Worthy Matron of the Royal Center Order of Eastern Star #375.  Doris enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survivors include her daughter, Suzy Gray (Steve) of Memphis, Tennessee, Sadonna Weaver of Monon, grandchildren, Amy Faverty (Danny) of Memphis, Tennessee, David Smith (Liz) of Moore Haven, Florida, Jill Shannon (Cary) of Monon, Kathryn Weaver of Monon and Lisa Gray of Indianapolis and great grandchildren, Sarah Jane Faverty, Will Faverty, Ethan Shannon and Eli Shannon.

She was also preceded in death by son, Richard “Rick” Weaver and two infant grandsons.

Graveside Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Crooked Creek Christian Church.
