Doris Anne (Willy) Wise, 84, of Logansport, passed away at 5:48 a.m., Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at Logansport Memorial Hospital.
Born on March 9, 1933 in Idaville, she was the daughter of the late Victor M. and Ethel (Cunningham) Willy Sr.
She attended many schools that included, Deer Creek, Clymers, New Waverly, St. Joseph, and Grass Creek.
On October 9, 1949, Doris married Donald E. Wise Sr., who preceded her in death on November 19, 2012.
Doris worked at RBM where she retired after 45 years being a receiving inspector. She worked hard at the state level for the rights of the mentally handicapped back in the early 70’s. Doris also served on the board for Camelot Care Center for many years.
She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.
Most recently, Doris enjoyed reading several books in one week, going to yard sales, and shopping at Goodwill. She also enjoyed raising sheep and donkeys and gardening before moving closer to town. She had a love for cats and dogs, always having them near her, especially her cat “Sammy” who survives.
Survivors include daughters; Pam Weber (Paul) of Batesville, Indiana, and Madonna Wise of Houston, Texas, son, Gene Wise (Tracy) of Columbus, Indiana, sister, Helen Wilson (Robert) of Logansport and sister-in-laws, Mary Lou Willy of Logansport and Gabriella Willy of Klamath Falls, Oregon.
Doris is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son, Donald Wise Jr., and daughter, Cynthia Anne Wise, sister and brother-in-law, Nada and Jay Herrold, and brothers; Victor M. Willy Jr., and Elton “Gene” Willy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, April 3, 2017 at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Dominic Petan officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel.
Burial will at St. John’s Cemetery.
