Elizabeth "Betty" (Huffman) Swisher

Elizabeth “Betty” Swisher, 94, of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 3:40 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2014 at Chase Center in Logansport.

Born on March 8, 1920 in Washington Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Flora (Barnett) Huffman.  On July 18, 1941 she married Richard E. Swisher.  He preceded her in death on June 4, 1996.

She was Royal Center High School graduate.

Betty retired from General Tire in Logansport after 30 years.  She was a life member of the VFW Women’s Aux and she enjoyed dancing, gardening and taking care of her flowers.

Survivors include her daughters, Deitra Spencer of Royal Center, Deb Pittman (Rex) of Ocala, Florida and Diane Zeider of Logansport, grandchildren, Candi Rogers of Carmel, Tony Spencer (Heather) of Royal Center, Troy Ramsay (Pam) of Logansport, Dawn Pittman (Ed Norregard) of Ocala, Florida, Tara McVay (Randy) of Macy, Matthew Swisher (Katya) of Metea, Eric Zeider of Logansport and Beth Zeider of Logansport, 10 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren, sister, Mary Lease of Logansport.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by sons, John and Joseph Swisher, brother, Joe “Bus” Huffman, Jr., sister, Eleanor Harris and sons in law, Terry Spencer and Chuck Zeider.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 7, 2014 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Richard Utterback officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to the time of the service on Friday.

Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
