Ernest J. Gunter

Ernest J. Gunter, 88, of Logansport formerly of Thornhope passed away at 12:15 a.m., Wednesday, September 01, 2010 at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis.
Born on September 15, 1921 in Grass Creek, he was the son of the late Ernest and Mary (Benson) Gunter. On October 27, 1940 he married Florence Black, who survives.
He was a Truck Driver for Kain Motors in Logansport for over 30 years.
He attended Bible Holiness Church in Logansport and he enjoyed fishing and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Florence Gunter of Logansport, sons, John R. Gunter, Larry W. Gunter and Floyd W. Gunter, daughter, Betty Anderson, many grandchildren and great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Shirley Jean Reidebach, 3 brothers and 1 sister.
Visitation will be from 12 to 2 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel.
Services will follow at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Jeff Ropp officiating.
Burial will be at Thompson Cemetery, Royal Center.
