Esther L. Rude

Services for Esther L. Rude, 85 of Kewanna, will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 1, 2008 at Kewanna Church of Christ.

She died at 2:00 a.m., Tuesday, October 28, 2008 at Pulaski Health Care Center, Winamac.

Born November 16, 1922 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Russell & Bertha (Lidgard)A�Jump.A� On September 8, 1940 in Winamac, she was married to Wilber J. Rude and he preceded her in death on January 27, 1993.

Esther was a 1940 graduate of Winamac High School.A�A�

Esther was a homemaker and she also formerly worked for United Telephone Company, Kewanna and Winamac, and Mar-Lo Restaurant, Kewanna. She was a member of the Kewanna Church of Christ, Kewanna Saddle Club, Kewanna Mothers Club and a former member of Pinhook Grange. Esther enjoyed singing with the choir at church and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include 2 Sons, Stephen Rude and his wife, Donna of Rochester and Joe A�Rude and his wife, Juanita of Kewanna; 10 Grandchildren, Michael, Thomas, Andy and Charles Rude, Derek, Whitney and Drew Brockus, and Jesse, Darius and Sadie Rude; 8 Great Grandchildren, Shanda, Zachary, Jacob, Coleman, Bill, Jimmie, Josh and Olivia Rude; 1 Great, Great Granddaughter, Myli Rude.

She was also preceded in death by 1 brother, Robert Jump and 2 sisters, Dorothy Schweder and Alice Frarzen. Burial will be in Citizens IOOF Cemetery, Kewanna with Pastor Scott Meneely officiating.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2008 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna and also 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.
