Frank C. Blameuser

Frank Christian Blameuser, 81, of Kewanna formerly of Winamac passed away at 2:00 a.m., Friday, March 4, 2011 at his residence.
Born on May 11, 1929 at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois, he was the son of the late Frank J. and Lucy (Tures) Blameuser. On October 6, 1959 he married Carolyn M. Call and she preceded him in death on July 30, 2010.
Frank attended St. PeterA�A�?A�?A�s Elementary School and Niles Township High School in Skokie, Illinois.
Frank was a U.S. Army veteran serving in Korea from 1951 to 1953.
He purchased his first greenhouse in 1953 in Park Ridge, Illinois and his second greenhouse in Palatine, Illinois in 1963 where he grew carnations, mums and a variety of fresh flowers. In 1973 Frank and his late wife Carolyn purchased the Winamac Floral Shop and operated it for over 20 years.
Survivors include his children, Frank M. Blameuser of Kewanna, Bernard A. Blameuser of Star City, Connie M. Smith of Winamac and Cathie Blameuser Werich of Kewanna, sister, Mary Jane Nichols and husband Cyril of Arlington, Heights, Illinois, grandchildren, Ozzy Blameuser of Kewanna, Arthur Smith of Winamac, Aaron Shelton of Monticello and Isaiah Werich of Kewanna. He is also survived by nieces, Cathy and Cyndi and nephews, David and John.
He was also preceded in death by son, Christian J. Blameuser, sisters, Charlotte Tittle and Delores Walmer and a niece, Linda.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m., Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 11, 2011 at the funeral home.
Burial with military rites will be performed at Highland Cemetery in North Judson.
