Freida J. Miller

Freida J. Miller, 71, of Royal Center passed away unexpectedly at 5:18 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Logansport Memorial Hospital. Born on September 4, 1942 in Winamac, she was the daughter of Virgil and Bethel (Foust) Smith. In July of 1971 she married Paul W. Miller, he survives.

She was a 1960 Royal Center High School graduate.

Freida was formerly employed at Essex, Hamilton Standard Controls and later White Rodgers in Logansport. She was also formerly elected as the Royal Center Clerk Treasurer. Freida was the Secretary and Past Worthy Matron of the Royal Center Order of Eastern Star and she was a member of the Peru Ladies of the Moose.

She was an avid Indiana University Basketball and Notre Dame Football fan. She also enjoyed camping and shopping.

Survivors include her husband, Paul W. Miller of Royal Center, son, Eric Miller of Royal Center, daughter, Mindi Miller of Lafayette, brother, Virgil "Bill" Smith (Bonnie) of Royal Center and a grandson, Mark Linton.

Freida was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Smith, her mother and step father, Bethel and Orville "Bud" Zeek and one son, Mark Miller.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, December 9, 2013 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Homes, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Kevin Drane officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the funeral home where there will also be an Eastern Star Service at 6 p.m.

Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
