George L. Malchow

Idaville

George L. Malchow, 84, of Idaville passed away peacefully at 7:43 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2020 at Northwood Village in Kokomo surrounded by his family.

Born on March 9, 1936 in Francesville, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Sylvia (Markley) Malchow.

He was a 1955 Francesville High School graduate.

On December 6, 1963 he married Evelyn Kay Cadwallader Bailey, she survives.

George was a farmer and he retired from Kaiser Agriculture Chemical Company in Star City.  After retirement he went to work for CDC in Monticello for several years.

He enjoyed fishing, spending time in Florida with family and friends, mushroom hunting, playing cards and putting around on his tractors.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Malchow of Idaville, children, Michael (Jill) Malchow of Royal Center, Carolyn Hines of Royal Center, Nilyn (Greg) Stark of Logansport, Kathy Abbott of Royal Center, Raymond Malchow of Burnettsville, Ronnie (Kris) Malchow of Logansport and Deb Johnson (Jeremy Bridge) of Royal Center, brothers, Leroy Malchow of Alabama and Charles Malchow of Rensselaer, sisters, Phyllis Anliker of Francesville and Lynette Miller of Rensselaer, grandchildren, Rebekah, Rachel, Mikey, Justin, Chandra, Charlie, Steph, Josh, Donovan, Traci, Nate, Monica, Jenny, Jessie, Jason, Page, Amanda and Blake.  He is also survived by 24 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by sisters, Jean Tagliaferi and Mary Poisel and grandson, Travis Stark.

George’s funeral service will be live streamed at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Rans Funeral Home & Crematory Facebook page.

Private burial will be at Bell Center Cemetery.
