Gerald L. Rice, resident of Kewanna, age 58, passed away at 11:07 p.m, on Sunday, June 22, 2014. Jerry was sent to Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.
He was born on February 15, 1956 in Logansport. He was the son of the late Orville L. and Darlene (Cox) Rice. On April 16, 1977, he married Karen A. Jones.
Jerry was a self-employed mechanic. At a young age, Jerry became interested in driving race cars, which he proceeded to do for many years. He enjoyed playing pool, going fishing, and riding motorcycles. He was also a former member of Fulton County ABATE.
He lives on in the hearts of his wife, Karen Rice of Kewanna, son, Jason Rice (Jennifer) of San Diego, California, daughter, Jessica Rice of Kewanna, brothers, Ronnie Rice (Yvonne) Of Florida, Steve Rice (Amy) Of Kentucky, and Mike Rice (Brenda) of Star City, and sister, Patty of Florida. He also lives on by grandchildren, Brantin Stevens and Laiyn Stevens. He was also preceded in death by sister, Linda Rice.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, at 7:00 p.m. This event will be held at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home in Kewanna.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
