Glen married Karen Hults Smith in 1974 and had two children, Jessica Smith, Lafayette, Bradley Smith, Zionsville, and one grandchild, Walton Smith, Zionsville. Also surviving is his older, loving sister, Carol Gene Smith Goins, Brownsburg, and several nieces and nephews. Family was paramount to Glen and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Glen enjoyed spending time in his flower gardens and ponds. He also loved doing projects at his children's homes. He eagerly anticipated his annual fishing trip to Wisconsin with his son totaling 25 trips. He was proud of the fact he had traveled to all 50 states. In the last few years, Glen took great pleasure in collecting humorous memes to share on social media. He was a long-time regular at Bullshippers Cafe and looked forward to gathering with his friends most mornings. Aside from soaking in his hot tub, another favorite pastime was watching IU Basketball. He was a lifelong fan and never missed a game.
