Gloria J. Banks, 74, of Culver, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 25, 2020.
Gloria was born in Tiffin, Ohio, on February 1, 1946, one of three children born to George B. Baker and Alice M. (Miller) Lutz.
The family moved to Indiana and Gloria graduated from Culver High School, in 1964.
After high school she married Randel Banks on August 23, 1964, in Culver. Together they started a family and raised their two children.
Gloria worked five years at Culver Academies, followed by ten years at Farm Bureau Insurance in Plymouth, Indiana. Gloria then entered the food service industry working in several local establishments, while working nineteen years at the Corner Tavern in Culver. Gloria served as the Corresponding Secretary for the Culver High School Alumni Association for forty-three years. Randy and Gloria purchased The Kibitzer in Kewanna, in May, of 1989, where they served families food and drinks for 30 years.
Gloria enjoyed gambling in Las Vegas and especially loved socializing with her friends and family.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Randy of Culver; mother, Alice (Don) Lutz of Culver; daughter, Carolyn Banks of Plymouth, son, Jerry Banks of Culver, brother, Rick Baker of Culver, grandchildren, Jessica and Colton Measels and Taylor Banks, Great-grandchildren, Keon Banks and Jaycee Johnson; and her faithful Yorkie, Max.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Baker and brother, George Baker Jr.
A Memorial and visitation gathering will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Metzger Chapel, Kewanna.
A Memorial service will begin at 2:00 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be held on the West lawn of The Kibitzer in Kewanna, following the service. Food, games, and fun to celebrate the Life of Gloria Banks.
Memorials may be made in Gloria's memory to the Marshall Co. Humane Society in Plymouth.
