Gregory C. Frain, 67, of Winamac passed away at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, April 30, 2015 at his residence after an extended illness.
Born on December 5, 1947 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Arlis Harold and Estella Lucille (Zellers) Frain.
He was a 1965 Winamac High School graduate.
Greg was a decorated U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving in the Vietnam War during 1967 and 1968. He was awarded two Purple Hearts while serving with Lima Company 3rd Battalion 9th Marine Regiment.
Survivors include his children, Colleen (Michael) Craig of Albion, Barney “Brent” Frain of St. Mary’s, Georgia and Dorri (Michael) O’Donnell of Winamac, his brother, Jeffrey A. (Jerrilyn) Frain of Perry, Iowa and nephew, A.J. Frain of Perry, Iowa. Greg is also survived by his lady friend, Valerie Powers of Winamac.
Greg achieved his 28 th year of continuous sobriety in March 2015. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening. His special joy was gathering with his Marine Brothers at their annual reunions held all over the United States.
Memorial Services with full military rites will be performed at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Burial will be at Arlington National Cemetery at 3:00 PM, Thursday, September 10, 2015. Those in attendance should meet at the administration building 45 minutes prior.
