Gudrun “Trudy” Baker, 83, of Logansport passed away peacefully at 11:39 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Chase Center.
Born on January 24, 1938 in Hollrich, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Ernst and Gertud (Follmert) Bohrer.
She married Elvin Baker in Germany when he was stationed there in the U.S. Army. She moved back with him to the United States and was proud that she became a U.S. citizen. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1995.
Trudy was a accomplished seamstress for over 60 years. She retired from Corso’s Dry Cleaners and then continued to iron, sew and do alterations from her home up until her passing.
She was a former member of the Eagles, American Legion and the VFW. Trudy enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and spending time with friends.
She is survived by one sister of Germany, several nieces and nephews and many many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin Baker, brothers, Ernst Bohrer, Theo Bohrer, and Randolph Bohrer and sisters, Renate Bronner and Rotraud Fichtner.
Services will be at 10:00 a.m., August 16, 2021 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Marocco Chapel, 119 E. Market St., Logansport.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Ever Rest Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Cass County Humane Society.
