Harry "Guy" Gustin

Logansport

Harry Guy Gustin, 91, of Logansport passed away at 11:52 a.m., Saturday, April 6, 2019 at Woodbridge Health Campus.

Born on December 5, 1927 in Greenfield, he was the son of the late Harry V. and Hester (Walker) Gustin.

He was a 1945 Greenfield High School graduate.

Guy then served in the U.S. Air Force from December 1945 to June of 1947 where he was attached to the 444 Heavy Bomb Group of the B-29 Squadron as a flight engineer during WWII.  He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

He married Mary Ann Maschino on October 8, 1955 in North Vernon.

Guy and Mary Ann moved to Logansport in 1961 when he took a sales position at Schraders Automotive.  In 1978 he went to work at Napa Auto Parts until his retirement in 1994.  Guy spent 43 years in the auto parts and accessory business.

He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church.  Guy was a lifetime member and field instructor for the National Field Archery Association and the Indiana Field Archery Association where he was also elected to their Hall of Fame in 1984.  He was also a National Bowhunter rep for Indiana for 8 years and a Bear Archery Dealer for 38 years.  Guy was a Past President of the Cass County Archery Club, Blue River Bowmen Archery Club in Shelbyville, and Brandywine Bowmen Club in Greenfield.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Gustin of Logansport, son, Carl Gustin (Brenda) of Michigan, daughter, Alice Gustin of Valparaiso and son, Archie Gustin (Diane) of Florida, brother, Lloyd Gustin (Jean) of Greenfield, sister, Loretta Stark of Greenfield, brother, Gary Gustin (Luellen) of Greenfield, sister, Gayle Pierson (Eric) of Greenfield, grandchildren, Holly Haslett (Mike) of Michigan and Hilary Gustin of Michigan, step grandchildren, Shaun Stanek of Florida and Shana Stanek of Texas and step great grandson, Andrew Stanek of Florida.  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by brother in law, Jim Stark.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 13, 2019 at All Saints Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior to the Mass at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel & Crematory.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made All Saints Catholic Church.
