Helen L. Ulfers, 97, of Logansport formerly of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 11:05 a.m., Friday, January 24, 2014 at Miller's Merry Manor in Logansport.
Born on May 27, 1916 in Cass County north of Royal Center, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (Logan) Kistler. On May 5, 1938, she married Ben Ulfers. He preceded in death in 1964.
She was a 1935 Royal Center High School graduate.
Helen retired after 15 years from Longcliff State Hospital as a supervisor. She was a member of Caley United Methodist Church, Pythian Sisters and D.A.R.
Survivors include her son, Bernie Ulfers (Kay) of Logansport, grandchildren, Gretchen Schwartz (Jason) of Ft. Myers and Brent Ulfers (Heidi) of Greenwood and great grandchildren, Julian and Elle Schwartz of Ft. Myers and Alelaide and Victoria Ulfers of Greenwood.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Ben Ulfers, brothers, Clifford and Raymond Kistler and sisters, Loretta Kistler and Katherine Beckley.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Doris Smith officiating.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the time of the service on Thursday.
Burial will be at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Caley United Methodist Church.
