Herman R. Dietze

Herman R. Dietze, 98, of Monticello formerly of Logansport passed away at 5:45 a.m., Monday, August 20, 2012 at Monticello Assisted Living & Healthcare Center.

Born June 4, 1914 in Ft. Wayne, he was the son of the late Richard P. and Helene (Nitsch) Dietze. On October 16, 1971 he married Evelyn J. Petrie, she survives.

Herman was a commercial and industrial plumbing contractor who formerly owned and operated H.R. Dietze Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years in Logansport.

He was a member of Our Lady of The Lakes Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Monticello.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn J. Dietze of Monticello, 10 grandchildren, Michelle, Chris, Rick, Jeff, Carol, Patricia, Chris, Scott, Beth and Brad and sister in law, Anna M. Petrie of Logansport. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his children, Michael Karlen, Patty Long and Joyce Willy and grandson, Craig Willy.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012 at All Saints Catholic Church in Logansport with Very Rev. Canon Gerald Borawski, Father James Goodrum and Father Dominic Petan officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, August 26, 2012 at Marocco-Rans Funeral Chapel where there will be a Scripture Service at 5:30 p.m.

Burial will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Logansport.
