Ilene M. Pugh, 86, of Logansport met her Heavenly Father at 4:00 a.m., Friday, November 29, 2019 while residing at Woodbridge Senior Living Health Campus.
She was born in Logansport on September 19, 1933 to Mildred L. (Bean) and Wilson L. Pugh.
Ilene graduated from good old Logansport High School with the class of 1952 afterward took selected classes at I.U. Kokomo.
She was employed by RBM for 44 years and worked primarily in the Inspection Department as a Quality Control Supervisor. After the closing of RBM, Ilene worked at the Corral Supermarket until its closing. From there, she moved on to work at Marsh Supermarket at Market and 13th Street where she loved helping people. She enjoyed her coworkers and waiting on the customers in her checkout line, sharing their good and hard times.
Ilene looked forward to her monthly class meeting with her friends from her class of 1952. She enjoyed talking of old times, kids, grandkids, and all the aches and pains that seemed to have popped up overnight. After every meeting, Ilene would always leave with the same thought: “See you next month, God willing.” She also enjoyed meeting with “The Club,” a spin-off of the Washington Township Home Ec circle 3 club- a group of ladies that discussed various topics over tea, coffee, and good food. To Ilene, these were some of the best ladies she had the privilege of knowing. They enjoyed pretending to solve health and education problems, enjoyed discussing good books to read and taking notice of up-and-coming art and civic programs in Logansport. Ilene always left her “Club” meetings with high hopes for Logansport.
Ilene loved attending various school programs performed by her nieces and nephews through the years, and she was always proud of their accomplishments.
Survivors include her brothers, Bob Pugh (Dee) and Joseph Pugh (Marge) all of Logansport. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews along with as well as multiple great and great great nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by sister, Shirley Lane, brother in law, Allen Lane, nephew, Anthony Wilson Pugh and great niece, Mackenzie Grace Pugh.
Gravesides Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery Chapel with her nephew in law, Roland Kassales officiating.
In Lieu of flowers, Ilene requests that contributions be made to The Cancer of the Heart Research Center.
Her final wish is to greet you all at Heaven’s gate. For sharing her life, you were loved. For caring abut her life, you were loved. For everything you were in her life, you were loved. God bless you as He has me for 86 years. Ilene.
