Ivy F. (Green) Ramsay
August 16, 1921 — February 2, 2015
Ivy F. Ramsay, 93, of Lafayette, formerly of Royal Center passed away at 9:45 a.m., Monday, February 2, 2015 at her residence.
Born on August 16, 1921, in London, England, she was the daughter of the late Arthur S. and Florence (Piper) Green.
On December 29, 1942, Ivy married Ernest W. Ramsay in Stratford, England. Ernest preceded her in death on October 26, 1984.
She was a veteran of the Land Army during WWII in England. She with her husband, Ernest, came to the USA with all their belongings in 1959 aboard the Queen Mary.
Ivy was a homemaker. She was a former member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Royal Center.
Survivors include son, Ian F. Ramsay of Lafayette, brothers; Cyril Green and Raymond Mortimer both of England. She is also survived by grandson, Shawn Ramsay (Sheri-Dunn Ramsay) and great granddaughters, Skylar and Sierra Ramsay.
She was also preceded in death by son, Alan E. Ramsay and sisters, Violet and Daisy.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2015 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Adrian Curtis officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Royal Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center.
