Jack D. Wild

Jack D. Wild, 83, of Logansport passed away at 2:43 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2012 at Caring Hands Healthcare Center in Peru.
Born on December 17, 1928, in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Honorable Clifford O. and Naomi (Herrington) Wild. On January 15, 1964 he married Bettie McGriff, she survives.
He was a 1947 Logansport High School graduate where he lettered in basketball and football. Jack attended Indiana University for two years and became a charter member of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity.
Jack was employed for over 25 years and retired from Saylor's Candy Company in Burnettsville. He then became the 'Poolman' at Pioneer High School for 22 years. He enjoyed camping, canoeing and spending time at Lake Michigan.
Survivors include his wife, Bettie Lu Wild of Logansport, daughters; Jacquelyn D. Knapp and husband John of Walton, brothers; Clifford O. Wild Jr. and wife Susan of Kettering, Ohio, Robert K. Wild and wife Carole of West Carrollton, Ohio, Richard W. Wild and wife Karen of Logansport, John D. Wild and wife Barbara of Sherwood, Oregon, Victor A. Wild and wife Caroline of Marblehead, Massachusetts, Phillip M. Wild of Tuscon, Arizona, Stanley J. Wild of Tuscon, Arizona, and James W. Wild of Tuscon, Arizona, sisters, Ramona Higel and husband Robert, Barbara K. Jaxel, and Debra McAninch and husband Gary, all of Salem, Oregon. He is also survived by grandson Joshua Robert Allen Knapp of Walton, and cousins; Jamie, John, and William Rogers and their families.
He was also preceded in death by sister, Mitzi June Wild Clayton, brother, Ted Wild and cousins, Helen Rogers and her husband Bill and Arthur 'Junior' Dunn.
Services will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday October 16, 2012 at Marocco ' Rans Funeral chapel with Pastor Bill Collins officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the funeral home.
