James L. “Jim” Norzinskay, Sr., 78, of Logansport, passed away at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.
Born on June 16, 1938 in Logansport, he was the son of the late Lewis A. and Gussie N. (McNaught) Norzinskay.
Jim was a 1956 graduate of Logansport High School.
On June 23, 1977, he married Lynn (Stevens) Norzinskay who survives.
Jim was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He worked for the United State Post Office as a Rural Mail Letter Carrier for over 27 years and was also the former owner and operator of the Tap Tavern.
He was a member of Logansport Church of Christ, a lifetime member of the VFW Post #3790 and the National Rural Letter Carrier’s Association.
Jim enjoyed fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Norzinskay of Logansport, son, James Norzinskay Jr., of Westfield, and daughter, Renee Trammel of Whitestown. He is also survived 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and one on the way.
A Celebration of Life Service with Military Rites will be performed at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2016 at the Mount Hope Cemetery Chapel in Logansport with Pastor Jeff Strite officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Logansport Church of Christ.
