Jane (Bagwell) Kennell, 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at Logansport Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Born on Oct 17, 1933, she was the daughter of Athel and Lelia Bagwell.

She was a 1951 graduate of Logansport high school.

On September 11, 1954, Jane married Frederic Mitchell Kennell, who preceded her in death March 21, 2014.

She leaves a great legacy of friends, family, and faith. Quick witted, with a great sense of fun, Jane forged many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed her early days of travel with friends, and more recently, her time with her book club at the Royal Center Library. She was a feisty bright light to those her knew best. She was an avid reader and loved music, especially Southern Gospel. Jane was a master gardener who loved flowers and birdwatching. She enjoyed quilting and shared this love with many friends.

Jane was a homemaker and a helpmate in the operation of Kennell Family Farms. Jane served her community by serving on the Logansport Children’s Home board of directors, as well as the board of directors for the Salvation Army. She worked as a secretary at Equitable Life Insurance for a number of years. She instilled in her family qualities such as a strong work ethic, a sense of humor, a love of reading, and a love for the Lord. She treasured family gatherings and loved the Christmas season.

Jane was a lifelong member of Crooked Creek Christian Church, of Royal Center, where she served as the organist for 70 years. She served in the Ladies Aide group, by teaching Sunday School, and in serving at funeral services and dinners. She was a lifelong student of God’s Word, and strong in her faith.

She is survived by her 5 children: Noel Kennell (Gina); Craig Kennell (Kathy); David Kennell (Candis) all of Royal Center; Scott Kennell (Sherry) of Greenwood; and Jill Struckholz (Robert) of Wolcottville. She is survived by 8 grandchildren: Cory Kennell, Kyle Kennell, Ashley McDonald, Adam Kennell, Megan Blanshine, Kelcey Kennell, Taylor Kennell, Wesley Kennell, and 1 step-grandson, Brandon Draper.
