Jean Cress, 90 of Logansport, formerly of Royal Center passed away peacefully at 3:55 a.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2017 at McKinney Place in Logansport.
Born February 12, 1926 in Bremen, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Florence Huff.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Tripsansky whom she married in 1946. In 1983, she married Carl F. Cress and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2004.
Jean was a former administrative assistant for the medical group of Dr. Otis Bowen, Dr. Stein and Dr. Burkett in Bremen for over 15 years. She was also a homemaker.
She lived a happy life in Bremen with her husband Joe while raising their 3 children. After marrying Carl, she moved to Royal Center. She and Carl traveled extensively, covering over 300,000 miles on their Harley including many trips to Texas, California and one trip on the Harley to Alaska. Later, Carl and Jean moved to Texas where Jean resided until June of 2016, when she moved back home to Indiana.
She was a member of Lucerne Christian Church and a former member of the Royal Center Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors include her children, Carol Colen (Steve) of Arroyo Grande, California, Mary Carlson of Culver, Dick Tripsansky (Jeanne) of Sebring, Florida, Steve Cress (Pat) of Ocean Springs, Mississippi and Beth Kitchell (Mike) of Logansport, 12 grandchildren, Steven Colen, Laura Martello (Tony), Mara Keenan, Autumn Boss (Daren), Brian Cress, Carter Cress, Gavin Cress (Heather), Craig Cress (Kristen), Adam Baker (Crystal), Matt Kitchell (Amanda), Doug Kitchell (Cameron) and Hannah Eshelman (Karl) and 15 great grandchildren, Jenna Martello, Lyla Jean Martello, Joelle Boss, Kyle Cress, Hayley Cress, Kevin Cress, Colton Baker, Corbin Baker, Ian Kitchell, Ellison Kitchell, Gracie Kitchell, Rae Kitchell, Sawyer Eshelman, Ruby Eshelman and Charlotte Eshelman.
She was also preceded in death by son, Craig Cress.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Lucerne Christian Church with Pastor Dirk Raderstorf officiating.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Burial will be at Zion Methodist Cemetery in Lucerne.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lucerne Christian Church.
