Jeanne Miller

Jeanne Miller, 81, of Grass Creek passed away at 9:55 p.m., Sunday, December 1, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her family.

Born October 16, 1932 in Fulton County, she was the daughter of the late Nelson and Lela (McCoy) Hizer. On April 1, 1951 she married the love of her life, Gerald "Gene" Miller, he survives.

She was a 1950 Grass Creek High School graduate and was also a graduate of Fort Wayne Beauty School.

Jeanne was a homemaker and farm wife. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed talking on the telephone, especially with her granddaughter, Courtney.

She was a member of the VFW in Kewanna and she also attended Hillcrest Baptist Church in Rochester.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Miller of Grass Creek, daughters, Catherine Hassenplug (Daniel) of Kewanna, Marilyn Mock (Bruce) of Rockwall, Texas and Kelly Bragg (Brian) of Frankfort, brother in law, Thomas Miller (Dorothy) of Plymouth, sisters in law, Judy DePoy (Kenneth) of Fulton and Norma Miller of Kewanna. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, Brian Hassenplug (Melinda), Brad Hassenplug (Rebecca) and Eric Hassenplug (Amanda), Alyssa, Dustin and Brody Mock and Garen, Kelsey, Catey and Courtney Bragg and 4 great grandchildren, Ethan, Adrian, Audrey and Olivia Hassenplug.

She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and one sister.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home in Kewanna with Pastor Ed Taylor and Dr. James Gabhart officiating.

Visitation will be from from 3 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the funeral home and also one hour before the time of service on Thursday.

Burial will be at Grass Creek Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, Rochester.
