Jerry L. Kistler, 77, of Royal Center passed away Monday, March 3, 2014 at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis surrounded by his loving family.
Born October 3, 1936 in Royal Center, he was the son of the late Paul and Eunice (Spencer) Kistler. On April 12, 1959, he married Doris L. Smith, who survives.
He was a 1954 Royal Center High School graduate and he was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
Jerry was a retired Union Carpenter and a member of Local #615.
He was a member of Crooked Creek Christian Church and a former member of the Elks. Jerry enjoyed playing cards with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Kistler of Royal Center, daughter, Debra K. Coppernoll (David) of Logansport, son, Michael L. Kistler (Cheryl) of Royal Center, brother, Leslie Kistler (Hazel) of Logansport and sister in law, Joan Kistler of Warren. He is also survived by 3 grandchildren, Kristi K. Coppernoll and Samantha L. Coppernoll, both of Logansport and Nathan Kistler (Bailey) of Lake Cicott.
He was also preceded in death by brother, Robert Kistler and sister, Virginia Kistler.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Scott Ellison officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2014 at the funeral home and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Burial with Military Rites will be performed at Kistler Cemetery, Royal Center.
Memorial contributions may be made to Crooked Creek Christian Church.
