John M. Kennedy Ray, 55, of Kewanna passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, August 13, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on May 3, 1962 in Peru. On July 4, 1994, he married Lorna Riley. She survives.
He was a U.S. Marine Corp. veteran.
He was a member of the Carpenters Union #615 in Kokomo. He was an expert craftsman, specializing in custom mantles. John was a gentle giant who loved God and Country, his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Lorna Ray, daughters, Devan Anetrella (Joseph), Destiny Ray, Isabella Ray, parents, Norman and Catherine Ray, all of Kewanna, brothers, Gene Ray, Norman Ray Jr. and Tommy Ray (Amanda), sisters, Katherine Sellers, Michelle Ray, Mari Ray, Tonya Gregory and Tracy Ray Hedrick, step son, Charles Lantz (Nicole) and grandchildren, Katana, Joshua, Leo, Dante and Grayson.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 18, 2017 at Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, 123 E. Main St., Kewanna, IN. 46939
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Mexico.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison-Metzger & Rans Funeral Home, Kewanna Chapel.
