Joseph R. "Dick" Pasquale, Sr.

August 3, 1931 — February 9, 2021

Royal Center

Joseph R. “Dick” Pasquale, Sr., 89, of Royal Center passed away at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2021 at home.

Born on August 3, 1931 in Logansport, he was the son of late Leonard and Myrtle (Auker) Pasquale.

He was a 1949 Logansport High School graduate.

Joe was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during the Korean Conflict from 1951 to 1955. He loved sharing his Navy stories with family and friends, and kept close contact with several shipmates.

On February 13, 1960 he married the love of his life, Lucille C. Woodward. She preceded him in death on January 17, 2008.

He retired from Essroc as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic in 1998 where he worked since 1962. Joe was a hard worker who rarely missed a day of work in 35 years.

Joe was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.

Survivors include his children, Joseph R. Pasquale, Jr. of Noblesville and Rebecca Ann Hines (Tim) of Logansport; grandchildren, Sarah Pasquale of Chicago, Joey Pasquale of Carmel, Kelsie Pasquale (David Western) of Columbia City, Heather Holcomb of Logansport, Kristen Holcomb (James Millward) of Indianapolis and Brad Holcomb (Alyssa Lytle) of Logansport; and great grandchildren, Harper Western, London Holcomb, Rowen Holcomb, and Jackson Millward.

He was also preceded in death by sister, Kate Pasquale.

Joe enjoyed several passions in life.  At the top of the list was his family, including his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, who brought him incredible joy. He loved attending all of the kids’ school functions including field trips, band, and multiple sporting events.  He was always their number one fan.  He and his wife, Lucy, along with many other parents, worked tirelessly to get Pioneer Football established and he continued to follow and cheer them on with the greatest pride.

Joe was an avid racing fan, from Micro Midgets up to IndyCar and NASCAR. He loved music, and nature and grew the most beautiful flowers and trees you will ever see.

Joe prayed daily, multiple times with his kitty, "Belle", sitting comfortably on his lap. He had a prayer list for those he knew and even those he didn't. If his family knew someone in need of uplifting, they, too, were added to his prayer list.

His love, dedication, and loyalty to his family and friends is the legacy his family is so proud of.
