Joseph F. Scheffer

Joseph F. Scheffer, 79 of Star City passed away peacefully at 9:47 a.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at his residence surrounded by his family.

Born on July 6, 1938 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Michael and Roberta Minnie (Crist) Scheffer.

He was a Pulaski High School graduate and a lifelong Pulaski County farmer. Joe enjoyed bowling, collecting diecast International tractors and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his daughters, Tammy Powers of Winamac, Patty Scheffer of Star City, Judy Rasmussen (Jeremey) of Star City and Jo Runk (Jim) of Star City and their mother, Joan Scheffer of Kewanna, brother, William Bill Scheffer, grandchildren, Melissa Hickle, SaDonna Mayer, Tonya Kasten, Rose Criswell, Seth Barton, Bryce Rasmussen, Kallie Rasmussen, Hunter Peterson, Brennen Runk and Kaden Runk, and companion, Joyce Girton of Star City. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 4, 2018 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Pulaski County Animal Center.
