Josephine Townsend

Josephine Townsend, 87, of Winona Lake passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne.

Born on March 30, 1932 in Logansport, she was the daughter of the late Enoch and Oma Hines.

She was a graduate of Royal Center High School.

On May 6, 1961 she married Conrad Townsend.  He preceded her in death on February 22, 2017.

Josephine retired after 33 years from the Logansport State Hospital.

Survivors include her children, Mark (Cathy) Townsend of Rochester and Nancy Townsend of Ft. Wayne and step granddaughter, Toni Swartzell of Logansport.

She was also preceded in death by son, Lincoln Townsend, brothers, Don Hines, Richard Hines, Wayne Hines, William “Bill” Hines and sisters, Nina Collins, Betty Swayze and Eileen Hines.

Services will be at 3:00p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Harrison-Metzger-Rans Funeral Home, Royal Center Chapel with Pastor Brian Sewell officiating.  Visitation will be from 1:00 until the time of the service.

Burial will follow at Kistler Cemetery in Royal Center.
