June (Dively) Dempsey

Mary “June” Dempsey, 93, of Royal Center passed away at 3:45 p.m., Thursday, January 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

Born on January 30, 1926 in Grass Creek, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Josephine (Myers) Diveley.

She was a 1945 graduate of Royal Center High School.

On December 20, 1947 she married Gerald Dempsey.  He preceded her in death on April 15, 1999.

June was a homemaker and she also formerly worked at RBM for several years.  She was a member of Royal Center United Methodist Church and was an avid reader.

Survivors include her children, Michael Dempsey (Pam) of FIshers, Sandra Bell (Francis) of Royal Center and Debra Needham (Charles) of Logansport, sister, Carolyn Cox (James) of Mooresville, sister in law, Marilyn Dively of Kewanna, grandchildren, Craig Grandstaff (Brandy), Chad Bebbe (Sirena), Ann Bradbury, Jason Dempsey, Nathan Needham (Christine) and Alicia Hanawalt and great grandchildren, Brittany Foulks (Ryan), Levi Grandstaff, Branson Hanawalt and Christopher Hanawalt.  She was also survived by 6 foster grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by brother, Frank and Howard Dively.

Services will be 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 13, 2020 at Rans Funeral Homes & Crematory, Harrison Chapel, 304 S. Chicago St., Royal Center with Pastor Brandon Scott officiating.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday.

Burial will follow at Grass Creek Cemetery.
